The course I am taking is called, "La Novela Chicana." it's an independent study. I am supposed to read eight books and write a paper for each one of them. So far I have read 4 books but have only written three papers. all the books are very interesting here are the titles:
Villarreal, José Antonio: Pocho. (1959) finished
Rivera, Tomás: Y no se lo trago la tierra, (1971) Finished
Anaya, Rudolfo. Bless Me, Ultima. (1972) or Heart of Aztlán (1975) finished
Zeta, Acosta Oscar. The Revolt of the Cockroach People. (1973)
Cisneros, Sandra. House on Mango Street. (1985) finished
Limón, Graciela.Memories of Ana Calderón (1994)
Cantú, Norma, Elia. Canícula: Snapshots of a Girlhood en la Frontera. (1995)
Castillo, Ana. The Mixquiahuala Letters. (1986)
Lopez-Medina, Sylvia. Cantora. (1992)
I hope to be done with everything on time. The books are very interesting, it's only the writing that
I procastinate a little with, but I'll finish, this is one of the courses I need to graduate from csumb.
